Saskatchewan Provincial Directors Report December 2012

As I bask in the sun and heat in Yuma I realize that when you read this it will be December.

Another year is coming to a close. What a year it has been.

The Saskatchewan Prairie Lily Klub Rally in June was again a success.  It never fails that we have rain at least one day.   The only glitch was that due to a lack of members it was decided to fold the Klub. How unfortunate that these things happen.  We have had some great times with the Klub.

We held our last Christmas Party in Moose Jaw on September 30.  There were 30 people that attended.  We had invited some of the former members. Elaine Iles and her late husband Stan were the first Provincial Directors and instigated the forming of the Klub on June 9, 2000.  Eugene and Irene Clermont were the first President couple.  Dorothy Johnstone also attended.  She and Floyd were loyal suporters of the Klub.  How can we ever forget Floyd “fogging” the campsite to get rid of the mosquitoes?  How nice to see them again.  We thank them for all they did for our Chapter

After a delicious supper we had our usual gift exchange.  There are always a lot of laughs and gifts  being traded several times.  Many thanks to the members from Alberta and Manitoba for joining us.

Words cannot express Cliff’s and my appreciation to all the people who have supported us for the past 13 years.  We have gained a wealth of new friends who we will cherish for our lifetime.  The Klub has also given us the opportunity to travel to places we may never have gone.  THANKS SO MUCH!!!

Let us not forget the women and men in the Canadian and American Military who keep fighting for our freedom.  Never take it for granted.  Also our thoughts and prayers go out to all the people devistated by hurricane Sandy. 

We hope everyone had a meaningful Thanksgiving.  We feel fortunate that we can celebrate back home in Canada and again in Yuma. 

It is our wish that everyone has a very Merry Christmas and a Healthy and Happy  New Year.
