I saw a sign the other day that read…..”A little common sense goes a long way”. Common sense is defined by Merriam-Webster  as, "sound and prudent judgment based on a simple perception of the situation or facts." Thus, "common sense" (in this view) equates to the knowledge and experience which most people already have, or which the person using the term believes that they do or should have.  Common sense is what all of us in the Newmar family have.  Knowledge and experience of the RV’ing lifestyle that we like to share with our friends and family. Perhaps that is why we love the Newmar family we share with you all. Everyone is so eager to help and share their experiences with everyone to benefit us all. The best way we have found to gain this common sense is to attend a Newmar function such as a rally, luncheon or any gathering. If you have not done this yet, please give it a try. I am sure you will love the experience.

The province of Saskatchewan is still in need of a provincial director. If this is of interest to you and you reside in Saskatchewan, please let us know and we can fill you in on the details of this rewarding experience.

The Kountry Klub’s annual international rally is set for June 25th to 30th. Reservation details are in the last issue of the Konnection magazine with the reservation deadline of Friday June 15th. You can use the handy on line reservation form as well. Check on the klub web site for details. The caravan planned from Region Nine to the international rally is well under way. For information, or to be kept informed, please contact Bill and Gerri Kruper, BC Provincial Directors, at bgkruper@hotmail.com. Note that you MUST register as a group to be able to enter and park as a group, so before you make your reservation  please get in touch with Bill so he can register you as a group.  Region 9 is once again looking after the klub store. This is a very fun and rewarding experience as we are able to meet many new friends and see a whole lot of smiling faces when everyone gets to see the great selection of articles for sale at the klub store. Once again, we will be looking for volunteers from region 9 to lend a helping hand. If you can spare a few hours during the rally it would lighten the work load for everyone. Please send us an e-mail to let us know.

For scheduled rallies in region 9 or any other area of North America, please refer to the on line calendar of events of the Klub web site. It is the most up-to-date list available and is kept updated of any changes that may occur during the year.

Fuel prices are a concern to us all in the RV industry and this year will be no exception with prices expected to hit all time highs again this summer.  Some little know tidbits of information on fuel as it relates to the USA price of fuel. A US gallon is smaller (128oz) than a Canadian gallon (160oz) and a US ounce is slightly larger than an imperial ounce. An easy way to find out the price of US fuel as it relates to the Canadian price is to multiply the US price per gallon by .264 to get price per litre in US dollars. Thus if the price of gasoline is $3.00us per gallon, this would equate to $0.805us per litre. With our Canadian dollar hovering around par with the US dollar, it makes sense to crank up that RV and get rolling.

Region Nine has two “Face Book” sites: “Newmar Kountry Klub of Alberta/Saskatchewan/Manitoba” and “Newmar Kountry Klub of British Columbia”. If you are a Face Book user, sign up and stay in touch with all your RV friends, post pictures, post information about upcoming events or just too plain chat. It is fun give it a try.
