November 2010
The Kruper’s thought it was the last rodeo when we stepped down as chapter presidents of the Interior Klub; however “never say never.” We are back in the saddle again, and back writing for the Konnection. We have always enjoyed participating in all the many klub rallies & functions, so we are going to enjoy participating in many more.
We attended the Interior Rally in Osoyoos, followed by the Mainland Rally, and very sorry we could not attend the Islanders Rally. The Interior Klub certainly kept the members up & dancing, what Great Entertainment, it kept everyone at the clubhouse, so much fun. Can’t say enough about the food, you will never go hungry at a Klub rally; Osoyoos certainly proved that to a “T”. We are going to use first names only in some of our articles & sometimes refer to specific individuals. I don’t know your secret recipe Ev but the steak was so tender, and flavorful it deserved first place honours.
We all toured the Desert Model Railroad, what an accomplishment, the painstaking painting details & hours it must have taken to reach the level it is at today.
This Klub just proved what they can do when someone needs help. We missed Arnold & Carol Penno at the rally but they needed to stay home to recover from injuries suffered in a serious car accident. Everyone wanted to help & everyone did help. A lot of hard work was put in by Frank & Marilyn, Richard & Sigi, Joe & Inga.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It truly was a great rally. They had some really great prizes….. right “Gord & Dianne.?”
We then moved on to the Mainland Rally in Aldergrove, hosted by Dave & Joanne the current presidents and now our new Regional Directors, “Congratulations”.
The Eagle Wind RV Park is the nicest Canadian Park we have stayed at in a long time. All facilities spotless. Some good news, this park’s website publishes a special rate for “Newmar Members.” Check them out. “Thanks Dave & Joanne” it wouldn’t have happened without you. Once again food was plentiful & top notch. They had a very special raffle donation from their own members “Gary & Janice”, now “Fred & Dorothy” who wouldn’t want to win that BBQ. Of course everyone thought Jim looked good in his new jacket, he was one happy camper.
We took a tour of the Fraser Valley Gleaners; it was inspiring if you are in the area you really should check this out. The speaker on behalf of the Gleaners spoke with such enthusiasm & so extremely knowledgeable of the present conditions throughout Canada & the world.
All of our rally hosts would like member input for future rally locations.
Joe & Inga, & Anita have provided some park names, this is appreciated.
Some reasons why we move the rallies around our beautiful province:
- To give everyone the opportunity to see more of our province, & special points of interest like the tours of the Osoyoos Desert Railroad & the Fraser Valley Gleaners.
- Eagle Wind RV just proved what some parks are willing to do for our business.
- Hopefully it gives members who live in different areas a chance to attend a rally they might not otherwise be able to attend.
- Provide the opportunity to use Service Clubs or churches for some of our functions.
Dave & Gwen who have been Regional Directors over the past 6 years will be missed.
They have been totally dedicated to the job, always accessible if you wanted an answer, loved what they did, truly missed as Directors but will always be members of our klubs.
The torch has been passed and we know that Dave & Joanne Killey are just as committed for the benefit of the west. Congratulations, we hope this journey is full of great memories
Carol Penno has kept such great records that we are sending November “Birthday Greetings” to: May Carey, Colin McCormick, Dave Harris, Lyman Robinson, Chuck Larsen, Cliff Carey, & Bob Jaggard. “Happy Anniversary” to Gordon & Dianne Jacobsen
Each Chapter has recently held election of officers. “Congratulations to each & everyone” & thank you for volunteering for a position, we are so glad to have you on board & hope you enjoy this experience as much as we have over the years.
Gary Giles we also wish you the best in your retirement as Prov.Director. However Gary this does not mean total retirement as we plan to see you at the next rally as we still plan to keep you very busy.
To those motoring south or staying close to home.
Keep In Touch
Bill & Gerri Kruper Prov. Dir.
