Alberta Prairie Dogs Chapter News |
Aug 2009
We are sure that all Alberta Prairie Dogs are enjoying the hot days of August but they are likely beginning to think of the fall days that are fast approaching.
We hope everyone has enjoyed this summer; soaking up the sun, participating in many summer activities, and perhaps attending one or more Newmar rallies.
Our own APD rally will be held on September 10-13th at the Beaver Creek Campgroung in the Elkwater Provincial Park. Be sure to send in your registration by August 15.
At our Annual General Meeting there will be an election for the required slate of officers (President, Vice-President and Secretary/Treasurer).
We encourage members to consider taking their turn holding a position, thus ensuring the chapter continues functioning. You don’t have to be at the rally to let your name stand. You can notify any of the current executive of your decision and your name will be brought forward at the meeting.

May 2009
The Prairie Dogs must have slept late this spring as there hasn’t been any word from them for quite some time. It would seem that they have finally emerged and are reporting that all is well on the home front.
They say that the Alberta winter was one for the record books, very cold and lots of snow! Spring wasn’t much better, late to arrive.
So here it is May and everyone must be getting ready for the summer ahead; the warm temperatures and all the outdoor activities.
Hopefully we will see some of you during your summer travels.
Looking ahead to fall, our APD rally will be held on September 10-13th at the Beaver Creek Campground in the Elkwater Provincial Park. You will find information about the rally on the website. We look forward to seeing everyone.

December 2008
Season’s greetings everyone. The fall season is winding down and winter is just around the corner. Our Alberta fall was wonderful and we are sure that all Prairie Dogs took full advantage of the warm weather.
We celebrated our Thanksgiving holiday in October and our American neighbours are enjoying their Thanksgiving in November. We hope everyone had the opportunity to visit with family and friends. This brings us to our final celebration for the year, Christmas.
On behalf of the Alberta Prairie Dogs executive, we wish to extend our best wishes to everyone for a very Merry Christmas and all life’s best in the New Year.
Safe travels to all, whether you are enjoying the season in the south or holidaying at home.

October 2008
The Alberta Prairie Dogs held their chapter rally at Wilderness Village RV Resort near Rocky Mountain House on September 4-7. There were 21 rigs in attendance and, in spite of some rain, we all had a great time.
There was a first aid seminar, a motor bike show and shine with information on safety, licensing and GPS, and a hayride that took us on a tour of the 380 site RV park.
The nightly camp fires were a hit as was the music provided by Suzanne and her keyboard and, of course, the group of singers added to the atmosphere.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to those of you who helped make our rally a success. Many thanks.
Safe travels to those of you who will be going south and our best wishes to those who will be enjoying or hibernating through our Alberta winter.

August 2008
Here it is August and the summer is almost over. One wonders where the time has gone. Well, we have been keeping busy at Wilderness Village RV Resort. I am working in the office and Ken can be seen welding “things” or using the tractor to dig in new flire pits, to haul and spread gravel, etc... or he changes hats to attend a Board of Directors meeting as President of the Wilderness Village Campground Association. Consequently, we haven’t been able to attend any rallies this summers but some of you will have attended the Bashaw Rally and/or the International Rally at Du Quoin, Illinois. We understand good times were had by all!
At this time, we wish to inform everyone that our APD chapter requires a new slate of officers (President, Vice-President and Secretary/treasurer) effective September 7,2008. We will be having an election at our Annual General Meeting which will be held on September 7. the Sunday morning of our rally. We encourage members to consider taking their turn holding a position, thus ensuring the chapter continues functioning. You don’t have to be at the rally to let your name stand. You can notify the Carter’s or the Dowling’s of your decision and your name will be brought forward at the meeting.
