June
The Kentucky State Rally is behind us as we look forward to traveling north of the Ohio River for our Bluegrass Kountry Roamers June rally, to be hosted by Mike & Marilyn McEvoy(15434). We hope to see more of our BKR members, including the snowbirds who just could not leave the nice warm weather of Florida and come to the cold April weather of Kentucky.
We are glad to report that Bryan Cullens(5740) is on his feet and walking on a new knee. We hear he has decided to enjoy this summer traveling north in the motorhome, and have the second knee replaced in the Fall. Buddie Cox(10013) continues with his treatments.
The BKR 10 Year Celebration Rally went well; April weather was just about the same as 10 years ago. Sorry more of our Bluegrass Kountry Roamer Charter Members did not attend, but glad Charter Members Bruce & Jane McDonald along with Betty and I were there. At our welcome dinner we celebrated Hank Willman's birthday. He and June joined our chapter during the first year after chapter formation. We passed out a booklet with some history of the 10 years and a very nice coffee mug with our BKR logo. Each person also received a certificates from our tour of the State Capital, signed by our State Senators and Representatives.

Jim's Seafood, overlooking the Kentucky River, served a fine dinner, just as they did 10 years ago. Elk Creek Winery Luncheon turned out very well; such a pretty setting with the grape arbors on the hillsides and a very fine buffet lunch.
We look forward to seeing all of you at the upcoming rallies this year. Check out the Calendar of Events in the Konnection and on line at www.newmarkountryklub.com for complete details.
Happy Travels and May God Bless You,

April
Several of our members have enjoyed the warm weather of Florida during the unusually bad winter across our home state. Spring is approaching, so now is the time to complete plans for 2009 Rallies.
The Florida Cookout went very well again this year with 10 couples attending. The weather started out cool then warmed up to a very nice, sunny, warm day. Lots of food, fun and fellowship. We were honored to have a newly-wed couple attend their first Cookout at Piney Point. Congratulations, June and Hank Willman, both long-time BKR members. Other first time attendees were Ken and Marilyn Jenkins, Region 8 Directors and Don and Ina Sekol, past Region 6 Directors.
Plans are in place for the “10th Anniversary Celebration Rally” for our Bluegrass Kountry Roamers Chapter at the 2009 State Rally. Several confirmations are in and sorry to have some who will not attend the State Rally. We begin with a catered welcome dinner on Tuesday, then Wednesday tour the Governors Mansion and our State Capital. After lunch check out the Historical Kentucky History Museum. There is a Traveling museum on Abraham Lincoln included. We will have dinner at Jim’s Seafood, as we did 10 years with our Charter meeting. The next day we travel to Owenton for lunch at Elk Creek Winery. We look forward to a fun time with several coaches at Elkhorn campground at Frankfort.
We are glad to hear from Virginia Cullens that Bryan was able to go home in less than a week after a successful Aorta Valve replacement. Bryan’s making progress toward a full recovery and is schedule to have both knees replaced. Bryan, we wish you well. Buddie Cox continues to battle his health problems with more treatments. Please remember to keep these two in your prayers.
Check the Calendar of Events for other rallies for the year.
