Virginia State Directors' February Message

I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday Season. After our annual January ski trip and granddaughters’ gymnastic competitions, we are finally at our winter home in Naples, FL. We really enjoy the “Season” with our friends from the Virginia Wheels and the Newmar Kountry Klub. Bob and Kathy Knight hosted a VA Wheels gathering at their home at Palm Island with a good time had by all! The monthly NKK luncheons at Ft. Meyers are always worth attending for the food, fellowship, and knowledge gathered from the programs presented. We stay busy with lots of activities and have a wonderful time in South Florida making it harder and harder to leave each year at the end of the season.

I want to remind everyone of the May 7th – 10th Virginia State NKK Rally at Cozy Acres Campground in Powhatan, VA. This event is co-hosted by the Warhols, the Marks, and the Simpsons to kick off the 2012 rally season. We are looking forward to fine food, fellowship and lots of fun!! Make your campground reservations directly with Cozy Acres, your registration fee and disclaimer form to the Warhols. See the 2012 VIRGINIA STATE RALLY ad in this issue for additional information. Hope to see you there!!

Until next time, good health, and safe travels!

Virginia State Directors' May Message

We have reached that time of the year when we must do two things that we have either put off or don’t want to do, taxes and leaving this South Florida paradise. The weather has been wonderful this year, allowing us to take part in any outdoor activities, but causing time to fly by. We are packing up, having parties celebrating great times spent volunteering at various functions, and saying our goodbyes until next year. Our next stop is Disney World in Orlando for a week with children and grandchildren.

We had another enjoyable Newmar Kountry Klub luncheon at Fort Myers in March. There was plenty of food, fellowship, and information from the North Trail technicians.

I hope you have signed up for the upcoming International Rally at Essex Junction, VT in June. We are looking forward to seeing lots of you there. Also don’t forget about the VA State Rally being held at the Holiday Travel Park in Virginia Beach, VA May 23rd thru 26th. 20 Super Sites are reserved along with tickets to the Virginia Aquarium, I-Max Theater, and the Norfolk Harbor Tour. Come and enjoy the activities, food, and fellowship while kicking off the Rally season. After the VA State and the NKK International Rallies, make plans to attend the VA Wheels Rally at Deer Creek RV Resort in Galax on August 16th thru 19th, and the VA Wheels 20th Anniversary Rally at The Country Waye RV Resort in Luray October 17th thru 20th. See the VA Wheels article and the NKK calendar of events for details of these “Not to Miss” Rallies!!

In closing we want to wish our fearless leader of Region 5, Bob Krieger, a speedy recovery from the knee surgery he underwent recently and hope to see him out and about soon!! Hope to see many familiar faces at all the upcoming events. Safe travels and good health to everyone.

Virginia Wheels Chapter President's February Message

The holiday season has come and gone and we hope everyone had a good time with family and friends. Rally season will be here before we know it. Some of us are wintering in Florida and will get together on Palm Island on January 25th. Some of us will be attending the Tampa Supershow.
Our first rally will be held at Cozy Acres in Powhatan and is the state rally hosted by John & Betty Warhol, Ronnie & Anna Simpson. Dates for this rally are May 7th-10th. We are in the process of putting together a late summer rally in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina at Crossroads RV and are hoping a rally host will step up. Details will come in the next newsletter. We finish out our season in the fall with a great rally planned by John & Susan Letner and Jim & Bess Linville at Walnut Hills in the Staunton area. Fall foliage should be great at this time of year.
Be sure to tell Newmar owners in your travels in 2012 about the Newmar Kountry Klub and VA Wheels chapter. Membership is the only way to keep our club growing and strong. Safe travels until we meet again.

Virginia Wheels Chapter President's October Message

Pat & Dwayne Kittle and Cathy & Bob Marks planned a wonderful rally at the Deer Creek RV Resort in Galax, Virginia for August 16 – 19. Several NKK members from the North Carolina chapter attended the rally and enjoyed the fellowship that we have at our rallies! A big thanks to the Kittles and Marks for planning a great rally as first time rally hosts!

One of our charter Virginia Wheels members, Bill Mills, died recently. Bill and Lisa have been extremely active members in Virginia Wheels since its very early days. They have hosted many rallies and Lisa has been our chapter historian (keeping our photo albums) for many years.

Our chapter will be 20 years old in October and we will be celebrating this anniversary during a rally to be held October 17-20 at Country Waye RV Park in Luray, Virginia. Jeanette & Danny Templeton and Jim & I are co-hosting the rally that will be featuring breakfast at the historic Mimslyn Inn, a river cruise, a storyteller, and free time to explore Luray Caverns and Shennadoah National Park. An anniversary celebration will also be held at the rally. See the Calendar of Events in this issue for registration information for this and all Virginia Wheels rallies.

Virginia Wheels Chapter President's August Message

The Virginia State Rally was held at Holiday Travel Park in Virginia Beach, VA May 23-26. The rally was hosted by State Directors, John & Betty Warhol and Ron & Ulaine Pelton. We heard that a wonderful time was had by the attendees and they didn’t let the 2 day power outage spoil their fun!

Pat & Dwayne Kittle and Cathy & Bob Marks are planning a rally at the Deer Creek RV Resort in Galax, Virginia for August 16 – 19. Please see the calendar of events for details about registering for this rally in Western Virginia at the home of the music festival.
