February South Carolina Palmetto Pals Chapter Message

Thanks to Roger & Peggy Weeks, and Sheryn & Dennis Ward for hosting another great Christmas at the Beach rally. The past two years this has been a joint South Carolina Palmetto Pals & North Carolina Tarheels rally. We had 30 members attend the rally. Two guest attended, Rodney & Tammy Krantz (who became new grandparents the week prior to the rally), and Geoff & Laura Baker (Full-Timers Chapter). Jim and Sue Hagedon our NKK Members at Large leaders also attended, providing Newmar and NKK updates as well as participating in the good times. They also commented on the need for every Newmar owner to be an NKK recruiter. As with any club, new members are an important life line for the future. Jim and Sue asked us to make contact with any Newmar coach we see on the road. A quick explanation of NKK, the availability of joining local chapters, and A presentation of the "2 for 1" program (new members pay for the first year, Newmar pays for the second year) hopefully will encourage people to join NKK.

We also welcomed back long time members Gene & Suzanne Failmezger who reacquired a Newmar Mountain Aire. They've promised to never own a non Newmar product for the rest of their lives! We're glad to have them back in the family. Once again the food was great, described by one member as a "10 pound rally". No one goes near a scale for weeks after the rally:) We had a number of folks take in a Christmas show, seven people ventured onto a golf course, and it seemed everyone went shopping.

The rally concluded with our infamous Christmas swap. This is an unbelievable event each year. The gifts are "very interesting", the "stealing" gets pretty aggressive, and as always a few "re-gifts" from prior rallies show up. The date for our 2012 Christmas at the Beach rally is Dec 13-16. Billie & B.L. Coleman and Gene and Susanne Failmezger will co-host this event. We would like all NKK members to put this on their calendar as a can't miss Newmar Rally. We guarantee you'll have a great time.

We are planning a spring rally, The Potter's & the Farrell's will co-host, location and dates will be in a future newsletter, watch for it! We once again agreed to donate $100.00 to the Konnection. Hopefully all NKK members and other chapters will support this excellent publication. A number of Pals were already planning their Florida migration for the winter. The Weeks and Myers will be heading to Naples. Tom & Florence Lee are heading to the Tampa RV Super Show with the Newmar Kountry Klub group. B.L. and Billie Coleman are heading to Florida in their newly purchased Mountain Aire coach. After years in their 5th Wheel, they decided it was time to spoil themselves. You should see the smile on their faces!
