How to handle Early arrival and extended stay:
We are assigning campsite numbers, so call us first.
We will assign you a campsite number
then you call the campground to see if this site is available pre and post rally
if it is, then tell them that you are with the Newmar rally and reserve that site and notify us that all is ok.
If that site is not available, call us for another possible site number and try again..
This should minimize the possibility that you will have to move your site.
(Sorry for this slightly cumbersome process, but the campground wants the wagonmaster to assign sites and we have to closely track campsite numbers to be sure we recover the NKK deposit that was put down months ago)
The campground phone number is: 843-795-7275
Unfortunately, the campground will not offer rally discount rates for pre and post stay.
Other Details still under Development
If there is enough interest, we may setup a dutch treat dinner Wednesday night at the California Dreaming Restaurant (to see the restaurant and menu, click this link: http://www.centraarchy.com/californiadreaming_Chas.php
Optional Tours being are being developed:
Boat tour to Fort Sumter – $14.50 (senior rate – age 62)
Charleston city bus tour $20.00

September Happenings...
Goodness, it is hard to believe that this article is being written during the record breaking HOT and HUMID week in mid July for the September Konnection. Can the summer be flying by so fast??
We missed the wonderful rally in Tennessee but from all reports there was a grand and glorious time with interesting talks, entertainment, and ….you can bet......wonderful food. Their state rally was hosted by State Directors, Dale and Sara Brown. They sure know how to show folks how to have a good time and encourage newbies to get involved. Thank you Dale and Sara.
We were able to make the Birthday Bash with the Va. Wheels in Luray, Va. Believe or not, they actually found a very nice campground that we had never visited. There were 13 coaches and we had a birthday member in every month. The meals and birthday celebrations were held in a very large Yurt that the Country Waye RV Resort had on site. We toured the New Market Battlefield and museum, enjoyed the mountain views and as with all NKK rallies......ate deeeeeelicious food. Thanks to John and Betty Warhol and Jeanette and Danny Templeton for hosting.
We are busy planning the Region 5 rally in Charleston, SC. The campground will be James Island County Park and the dates are September 28 to October 2. We have some good entertainment lined up and are finalizing the caterers and talking with tour operators. This park is one of our favorites and JP loves their doggie bark park. Details are in this issue. We hope to see you there to enjoy the area and ….do I dare say it?? Yes, wonderful food !!
When this is published the 25th anniversary celebration in Goshen will be a warm memory for all of us. Speaking in the future.....IT WAS A WONDERFUL WEEK !! We have looked forward to this Anniversary Celebration and a chance to greet again all of our past International, Regional and State Directors. Thanks to Barney and Barbara for putting together a great show once again and welcome Jim and Wilma. Thanks to all who were there and big thanks to all of you who volunteered to help.
Speaking of State Directors.....Region 5 is in need of a few good couples to help Newmar Kountry and Region 5. The best thing about being a State Director is meeting all the folks and getting to travel to different areas of your state. It is easy to do.....just getting involved. Do contact us and we will be glad to answer questions, offer assistance, and travel with you, when possible, for state rallies. Call and we can share more. Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee, South Carolina.....your members need you.
We understand that the restaurant in Lakeland, Fl. where the Newmar luncheons have been previously held, has closed. Keep an eye open for the November Konnection and NKK Region 5 website for Bill Craine's announcement on the new location.
See you at Goshen and the Region 5 rally – if not sooner!
Happy Trails !

July Happenings...
When writing the article for last month we were on the way to Foley Beach, Alabama to rally with the Dixie Aires. The Kunharts did a wonderful job and we have made more very dear friends, and also ate some very, very good seafood!! Once again, we must remind the membership of the Dixie Aires that the chapter needs them. The Kunharts and the Kohsers have been dedicated to their Klub for years. They need your help. NKK needs your help to keep the Dixie Aires going forward. You will be surprised how easy it is and delighted at all the new friends you will have and places you will discover. Your chapter needs you !!
After our great time on the beaches of Alabama we traveled to Seneca, SC for a rally with the South Carolina Palmetto Pals. The area is so beautiful! The Pals do know how to have a great time together! We have had many delightful adventures on the coast at Myrtle Beach and Charleston and are now learning about the foothills of South Carolina. The views of beautiful lakes, fishing....our dog really loved swimming in the lake. Thank you Roger and Peggy Weeks and Lupe and Dianah Carrera for your hospitality. Our special pizza dinner was......yummmmmm!!!
Between rallies we spent time in Gaffney, SC at the Freightliner plant for some maintenance and repairs, including the dash air.....love that dash air! We also spent some time in Charleston, SC. where we had many discussions with the folks at James Island County Park about our fall Region 5 rally at their location. More details on that in just a bit.
Lots of family time for us for the Memorial Day weekend. Kiptopeake State Park on the Eastern Shore of Virginia is our group gathering for Memorial Day and a weekend of fishing. So when do they start to catch fish ? You got it …... the very morning that we leave.....dang.
We are writing this now after a wonderful weekend with the NC Tarheels in Smithfield, NC. It was great to be spending time with NKK friends, shopping and just maybe eating a bit too much. That has already started with dinner! Delicious seafood and a wonderful show at the Ruby Theater rounded out the weekend. Thanks to Sheryn and Dennis Ward and Dain and Deborah Riley for all the good stuff.
This will be back-to-back rallies and we will leave our Tarheel friends one day and check in with our Va. Wheels friends the next. On the road again as I type for the Va. Wheels Birthday Bash State rally at Luray, Va.
The Region 5 rally will be Sept. 28 to October 1 at the James Island Park in Charleston, SC. This park is close to the beaches and down town and all those very fine eateries. Details are still being worked out and there will be more information soon.
This has been a very busy month for us - Greeting all the new friends and old friends. It is really, really nice to know that where ever we go.....we are not strangers, but among friends!!
We have all have grave concerns about this oil spill disaster for Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida,....all of our gulf coast states....prayers for the people and animals.
See you in Goshen for a very fine 25th celebration !!
Happy Trails !
