Hello Everyone,
When you read this it will be February. Oh my where is the time going? We hope that you had a blessed Christmas and will have a happy and healthy new year. We are fortunate each year to be in Florida near our youngest son’s home and experience the joy of family and Christmas through our youngest granddaughter’s eyes.
We are pleased to make two introductions. On January 1, 2012 Jim and Carol Chaney came on board as Illinois State Directors. They have been active in the Illinois Klubs for several years and are excited about their new role. Also on January 1, 2012 Ray and Joyce Korsten became the new State Directors for Minnesota for one year. The position will be re-advertised in 2012. Ray and Joyce have been active with the Minnesota Loons for many years serving as chapter officers and prior serving as State Directors. We are looking forward to working with these new Directors this coming year. Please support them in their new jobs.
We extend heartful thanks to Al & Marilyn Harms, past South Dakota State Directors, and Stan & Judy Lundmark, past Minnesota State Directors, for their outstanding service, dedication, and leadership. We have enjoyed working with you folks over the years. We will miss you as State Directors, but know you will still continue to be active in NKK.
Please come join us June 7 – 11, 2012 along the Oregon Trail in Gering/Scottsbluff, Nebraska for our Region 4 Rally. We will step back in history as we learn about the largest voluntary migration in American history. Come experience the sights that met the travelers as they headed west. It was not an easy trip and many families were leaving other family members behind knowing they would probably never meet again.
From your campsite at the Robidoux Campground you will have a view of the Scottsbluff Monument. We shall travel to the top of the Monument and learn from living history enactors about the area. One afternoon we will go to Chimney Rock. Chimney Rock was visible to the travelers many days before actually reaching it. We will climb aboard a wagon for a ride to see the ruts left by the pioneers’ wagons as they traveled west. A chuck wagon steak cook out over a wooden fire and singing will end our evening.
The advertisement and registration information for the rally can be found in this issue of the Konnection and on the Region 4 Internet Rally page. We are hoping that many of you traveling to the International Rally in Gillette, Wyoming will join us “Along the Trail” Region 4 Rally. After the Rally you may choice to go to Cody, WY to the outstanding Museum and/or Yellowstone National Park before going to the International Rally.
There is still time to attend a Newmar Owners breakfast or luncheon in your winter roost. Check the Konnection or online for dates and times. See long time friends and make some new ones.
Remember that we are only a phone call or e-mail away. Keep in touch: Ev’s phone (815-437-9078), Julie’s phone (815-878-2804), or enijei@earthlink.net.
Take time to tell some one you love them this Valentines Day. God Bless.
