December 2011

We are wintering in Arizona and the weather is great.  Gotta love it.  Life is good!

Our Montana State, Big Sky Kountry Klub joint rally is being planned forJune 13-16, 2012, in Billings.  Watch for more details in the next Konnection.  This will enable people to attend our rally on their way to Gillette, Wyoming, for the 2012 International rally with a little time in between to explore our beautiful state.  Hope to see many of you there.

Don't forget to attend the Newmar luncheons at the Mi Fajita restaurant if you are in the Yuma, Arizona, area on the first Tuesday of the month (see Calendar of Events for further details).   This is a fun time to meet with other Newmar owners.

Keep smiling!

October 2011

We have had a busy summer.   We drove all the way to Essex Junction, Vermont, to attend the International Rally.  That is quite a LONG drive.  After the rally, we went south to North Carolina before heading back to Montana.

Our Montana State, Big Sky Kountry Chapter joint rally has come and gone.  We held it in Ennis, Montana, and hopefully everyone had a good time.  We were very honored to have our International Directors, Jim and Wilma Weeks #9233L join us and to have a chance to get to know them.  It was fun to teach Wilma how to play cards with "our rules".  I doubt she has recovered yet and will want a chance to get even.

We held election of chapter officers for the coming year and Ken Lewis (16261) was elected as President, Wayne Eisenman (19418) as Vice President, with Billie Lewis (16261) as Secretary-Treasurer.

After our rally, we attended the Idaho State and the Washington State Rallies.  In between, we traveled to Spokane, Washington, to help our son in the construction business.  That was hard work for us who aren't used to it and are a "little bit older"  By the time you read this we will be in Yuma, Arizona, for the winter.  We hope to get down south before the snow flies.

Don't forget, if you are in the Yuma. area this winter, please come join us for a luncheon.   We meet the first Tuesday of each month, November through March, at 12:00 noon at the Mi Fajita Restaurant, 11375 S. Foothills Blvd in Yuma.  This is a good opportunity to meet with other Newmar owners and swap stories, hints or whatever.  See you there.

Keep smiling!

August 2011

We are just returning from attending another International Rally.   I won't elaborate on that because I am sure others will.   I do want to give Kudos though to the Newmar Service crew there.   If you need things done on your coach, International is a good place to go for your work and you can meet friends, old and new, at the same time.

Another Kudo goes to Masseys in Phoenix, Arizona.   We had an air valve leaking and they were able to fix it in a very short time.   We were told it would be a very big job by other shops and they couldn't do it.   Masseys figured out an easier way to get to it.

HWH in Iowa is another place that gives great service if you have issues with your jacks.   They also did updates for us and only charged for labor.

Hope many of you are planning to attend our 2011 rally, August 18-21 in Ennis, Montana.  That is coming up very fast.

We don’t know where this winter has gone but it has certainly gone fast.  We spent the winter in Yuma, Arizona, where every day is an adventure.  So much to do and so many wonderful friends.

While in Yuma, we organized a luncheon for Newmar owners on the first Tuesday of every month through the winter.  It was well attended and everyone could meet and share tips with others who have the same rigs.

There isn’t much happening in Montana during the winter as far as RVing is concerned, so nothing to report there.  Our rally is planned for August 18-21 in Ennis, Montana.  For information, call Warren at 406-670-2850.

November 2010

Hello from Big Sky Country, the Beautiful State of Montana.  Our joint State/Big Sky Chapter Rally was held in Polson, July 15-16.  Thanks to Gary and Daisy Groves for hosting this.  We had 9 rigs in attendance and were camped at the Polson Motorcoach and RV Resort.   What a beautiful setting overlooking Flathead Lake.   Every spot had a view of the lake out the front window.

Bretz RV of Missoula brought a new Ventana motorhome for us to tour.  They also hosted a yummy barbeque.   A drawing for two recliner chairs donated by Bretz was won by yours truly.  Thank you Bretz.

Dick Nesbit has resigned as Treasurer of the Big Sky Kountry Klub.  Billie Lewis has accepted the nomination to be our new Treasurer, effective immediately.  Please send dues to Billie at 2960 Grizzly Trail, Laurel, Montana 59066.

The Region 2 Rally, hosted by Mike and Carol Lowery, was held in West Glacier, Montana.  It was rainy and cool weather, but the Lowery’s did a really good job of making it fun.

We headed South in September due to the rainy weather in Billings and the Fall chill in the air.  We are scheduling a monthly luncheon in Yuma, Arizona, this winter the first Tuesday of each month (November-March) at NOON at Mia Fajitas, 1137 S. Foothills Boulevard.  Come meet with fellow Newmar owners.   For more information, call Warren at 406-670-2850.

I have a question for you: Who has a knife and fork in their black water tank?  And how do you suppose they got there?

Keep smiling.

By the time you read this in the Konnection, these "Snowbirds" will be in Arizona.  Where has this summer gone?

We had a joint Montana State and Big Sky Kountry Klub Rally in Lewistown in September during their annual Chokecherry Festival.  We toured Mountain Meadow Manufacturing and the State Fish Hatchery.  Both were very interesting and informative.  At our business meeting, we discussed ways to bring our membership numbers up.   Daisy Groves was elected to replace Pat Godward as secretary.  All other officers were retained. Mark it on your calendar to attend the Montana State/Big Sky Chapter joint rally in 2010.  It will be in Polson, Montana, July 15 – 18th during the annual cherry festival.  If you’ve never eaten Flathead cherries, you’re in for a treat.  Also during this weekend are the boat races on the beautiful Flathead Lake. See you there!

“Safe Travels;” Hope to see some of you in Arizona this winter.

There isn't much activity to report on during the winter months in our state.   Several of our members are "snow birds' in Arizona, yours truly included.

We are having a joint State-Chapter rally in Lewistown September 10-14.  This is during the chokecherry festival and should be a fun time.  For more information, call us at 406.670.2850, zweavers@yahoo.com, or Gary and Daisy Groves at 406.250.4794, daisyisle@aol.com

September 27, 2008

We held our Big Sky Kountry Klub State Rally in Fort Benton, Montana, September 18-21, 2008.  This is a beautiful setting and the weather was perfect.  There were only 8 rigs, but we were very fortunate to have our Region 2 Directors, Mike and Carol Lowery, join us.  Also, Russ and Linda Whitcomb,  new members, were there attending their first-ever rally.  They have a brand net Dutch Star.

Our tour of the old Fort Benton Fort was great.  Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and so interesting.  Maybe if I would have had a history teacher like him in school, I would have liked history.  There are five museums in Fort Benton, so there was no lack of things to do in the town.  Many people had never been there so had fun seeing new sights.

Keep smiling.  Remember ... It takes less muscles to smile than to frown.
