October State Directors Update -- Posted 10/03/08
Fall is just about here, meaning weather and not the calendar, and we here in Albuquerque are getting excited once again about the Balloon Fiesta. Jim and Sue Hagedon are the hosts for the Newmar Balloon Rally and have been camped here at the KOA for quite a while. I’m certain they, as well as the participants in the Newmar Special Event will have an absolutely wonderful time, as long as the winds stay at calm during the morning ascensions.
Just a reminder that Tom and Karen Thompson, Chile Pepper Presidents are out there scouting for new and additional places for future Rallies. They have book a Rally in Las Cruces for the weekend of February 12 – 15, 2009. That would be Valentines Day weekend and would be a great place to take your Sweetie!! You can contact Tom at OutbackTom@mac.com for further information. They are also looking for a new place for the April Rally that was held for 12 years at Pancho Villa State Park in Columbus, NM. Last year, as you may remember, Tom and Karen chose to move the Rally to Hacienda RV Park in Las Cruces due to the violence in Palomas, Mexico which is less than a mile from the State Park. Since conditions appear not to have improved greatly, they are looking for a new and exciting spot for that Rally. If you have any suggestions, you might also let them know your ideas.
Election ballots will be going out via email around the first of November. That would be two (2) elections that would be very important to participate in. REMEMBER TO VOTE.
Our Congratulations to the new Region 1 Directors, Tammy and Gary Beeler. We are thrilled to have them take on this responsibility and be from our great state. However, that is changing, as they have sold their home in Farmington, NM and are moving to Tucson, Az.
We also have a “SAVE THE DATE” for the 2008 Christmas Dinner. Sunday, December 7, 2008 is the date to mark down. Tom and Karen will let us know where the event will take place.
We look forward to seeing many of you in Ruidoso and then at the Arizona State Rally.
