October State Directors Update -- Posted 10/03/08

Fall is just about here, meaning weather and not the calendar, and we here in Albuquerque are getting excited once again about the Balloon Fiesta.  Jim and Sue Hagedon are the hosts for the Newmar Balloon Rally and have been camped here at the KOA for quite a while.  I’m certain they, as well as the participants in the Newmar Special Event will have an absolutely wonderful time, as long as the winds stay at calm during the morning ascensions.

Just a reminder that Tom and Karen Thompson, Chile Pepper Presidents are out there scouting for new and additional places for future Rallies.  They have book a Rally in Las Cruces for the weekend of February 12 – 15, 2009.  That would be Valentines Day weekend and would be a great place to take your Sweetie!!  You can contact Tom at OutbackTom@mac.com for further information.  They are also looking for a new place for the April Rally that was held for 12 years at Pancho Villa State Park in Columbus, NM.  Last year, as you may remember, Tom and Karen chose to move the Rally to Hacienda RV Park in Las Cruces due to the violence in Palomas, Mexico which is less than a mile from the State Park.  Since conditions appear not to have improved greatly, they are looking for a new and exciting spot for that Rally.  If you have any suggestions, you might also let them know your ideas.

Election ballots will be going out via email around the first of November.  That would be two (2) elections that would be very important to participate in.  REMEMBER TO VOTE.

Our Congratulations to the new Region 1 Directors, Tammy and Gary Beeler.  We are thrilled to have them take on this responsibility and be from our great state.  However, that is changing, as they have sold their home in Farmington, NM and are moving to Tucson, Az.

We also have a “SAVE THE DATE” for the 2008 Christmas Dinner.  Sunday, December 7, 2008 is the date to mark down.  Tom and Karen will let us know where the event will take place.

We look forward to seeing many of you in Ruidoso and then at the Arizona State Rally.

September State Directors Update -- Posted 09/01/08

Can we tell you how wonderful it is to be communicating with you in real time???  We sincerely hope that all of you are using this wonderful website as a tool for your Newmar rving information.

We had an absolutely wonderful time in Eagles Nest.  The Ryan’s and their co-hosts Henry and Carol Coleman and Bob and Diana Hayes did an outstanding job and I don’t think many of us noticed or cared that it rained!!  It was wonderfully cool and so beautiful in the northern mountains of New Mexico.  The Chile Peppers have been reaching out to places that we have not been before and this certainly was on the top of our list for a really great place to be.

We are currently getting ready for the New Mexico State Rally in Santa Fe and have a great group of folks participating.  We have two (2) that will then be attending the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque.  We look forward to meeting new friends and having a wonderful time in “the City Different”.  If you have a desire to participate, we probably have some room, but would need to know as soon as possible.  Look elsewhere in the New Mexico area of the website for this information.

Also in the website you will find information about our October Rally in Ruidoso, New Mexico.  Again, one of our all-time favorite places.  The folks at Little Creek RV Park are always accommodating and we have a terrific room in which to have all of our gatherings.  Dan and Sharon Knorr have a great lineup planned which includes an Oktoberfest Festival.  Contact them for more information.

We all are aware that the RV Industry is having a difficult time.  We compliment Newmar Corporation for their continuing support of the Kountry Klub.  We also hope you have read your letter from Barbara and Barney Barnett regarding the International Rally for 2009.  It will be held at the Elkhart Fairgrounds in Goshen, Indiana, the first week in August, 2009.  It is a step to conserve and manage the large cost of the Rally without canceling it altogether.  We thank you, Miller Family and Newmar Corporation.

We look forward to seeing you at 1 or more or the Rallies that we have left for the year.  As you can imagine, Tom and Karen Thompson, Chile Pepper Chapter Presidents, are already planning for 2009.  Any suggestions you might have for new and interesting places for a Rally would be appreciated.
