What's New At The Kountry Klub
 

Appointment of New Member-at-Large Candidate

 Due to the passing of Jeanne Fallen, we are currently seeking a replacement for the Member-at-Large position. The appointment will carry through to the Kountry Klub Board of Directors meeting in November of 2009.  We will hold our normal Member-at-Large election next year at the International Rally and the newly elected MAL will take over the position at the Board meeting in November. The Board of Directors will meet prior to the International Rally and whoever is appointed will be introduced during the Opening Ceremony at the International. The person appointed IS eligible to run for the position during next year’s election. If you have any questions please call the Klub Office.

2008 Membership Directory Photo Contest

We received close to 100 entries for this year's contest. And again choosing a winner was a difficult task. Congratulations to Laurel Wineinger (9791) for her winning photo taken while on the Calgary Stampede/Canadian Rockies Special Event last year. We want to thank all of you who submitted photos. The Membership Directories should be mailed out the the middle of April.


This year's International Rally in Du Quoin, Illinois
June 23-28, 2008 are the dates for this year's rally. You will have the option of early arrival on Saturday or Sunday, the 21 & 22.. Included in the rally cost is 6 days/5 night camping with 30 amp electric and city water. Everyone will be provided one pump out on their designated day. We will have four nights entertainment, four breakfasts and two dinners. We will have many suppliers and vendors doing four days of seminars as well as new 2009 units on display. This is just a teaser of what we have to offer so plan on joining hundreds of fellow Klub members and have a great time. Watch for your February issue for complete details to register for this event.

NOTE: We have just been notified that Scott Air Force Base has cancelled our tour scheduled for Tuesday, June 24th. It will not be rescheduled.

For those who plan ahead the 2009 rally will be June 22-27 in Perry, Georgia.

Alaska/Yukon Caravan June 4-July 16
This 43 day caravan is a once in a lifetime trip. Travel with experienced hosts as they guide you thru some of the most awe inspiring areas you can imagine.

Package Includes: 15 cruise, train and sightseeing tours, 7 shows and museums, and 10 meals. All campgrounds will have water and electric, some with full hookup. Substantial walking is involved on some of the tours and buses may not be handicap accessible.

Maritimes East Coast Caravan, August 7-29
Join us on this 23-day custom deluxe caravan with many sightseeing tours. Included is the historic and exciting Quebec City, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia.

Package Includes: 23 Days/22 Nights camping w/Electric & Water – most with sewers, 11 meals, 3 Bus Tours,Walking Tour of Historic Fredericton’s Waterfront & Kings Landing Historic Settlement,Reserved Orchestra Seating for the Musical “Anne of Green Gables”,Changing of the Guard Ceremony, Quebec Citadel (weather permitting), and a Performance at the College of Piping, PEI) We must have a minimum of 15 units for this caravan.

Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, October 7-12

HUNDREDS OF HOT-AIR BALLOONS IN THE AIR AT ONCE! Night-Glow events, optional balloon rides, and planned bus tours of Albuquerque and Santa Fe. A cable-car ride to dinner at a top-quality restaurant on the top of a mountain overlooking Albuquerque. Parking in the official RV area of the event with easy transportation to the launch field, where you can see the balloons up close and help the balloon crews if you like. These are some highlights of this year’s colorful and exciting 2008 NKK Balloon Fiesta.

We’ll have our own hospitality tent, which will face the balloon launch field, for our morning get-togethers, two dinners and socializing, with our rigs parked on either side. Everything is set up for a friendly and exciting time with fellow NKK members.

If you are thinking of attending this year’s rally, be sure to act soon, as the number of reservations has been reduced to twenty-five rigs this year, and the list is filling up.

Branson Christmas Rally, November 1-7

We have revamped our shows for this year’s tour. We will have reserved seating to see the following shows:  Allen Edwards Breakfast Show, Andy Williams Show, Branson Bell Lunch Cruise, Buck Trent Breakfast Show, Dixie Stampede Dinner Show, Irish Tenors, Mickey Gilley Show, Osmond Brothers Show, Pierce Arrow Matinee, Shoji Tabuchi Show and Yakov Smirnoff Show. We will be staying at the Branson KOA & Chastain Convention Center with full hook-ups 50/30 amps & cable TV. You will have free time to explore the Ozarks and Branson or take in another show or two! You will be led by two full time Kountry Klub Host Couples.

This event is a great way to start off the Holiday season, so come join us.


Christmas in the Smokies, November 11-17, 2008 

Come join us for a great time of Holiday entertainment in Tennessee.  Included in this event are eight shows; including three dinner shows and one breakfast show including the Country Tonight Show featuring John Conlee & Janie Fricke!  We will have you amazed at the Magic Beyond Belief Show. Also we will have a full day at Dollywood and plenty of free time to explore the Gatlinburg, Old Mill Square, Outlets, Christmas Shops and more on your own.  This rally is limited to 30 units so don’t hesitate, book now to ensure your spot on this delightful event.
