2013 NEWMAR KOUNTRY KLUB BOARD MEETING - IMPORTANT NEWS!

On May 17, 2013 the Newmar Kountry Klub Board of Directors held their annual meeting at the Newmar Corporate Headquarters in Nappanee, IN. Since the last International Rally in Gillette, WY in June, 2012 we have updated the Newmar Kountry Klub Officer’s Manual. At our 2013 International Rally in DuQuoin, IL the updated NKK Officer’s Manual will be distributed to our Officers.

There was one major change to the Directives section of our By-Laws which affects all our membership. The NKK Board of Directors unanimously approved a change in our policy about invited guests at rallies. The one per calendar year requirement was removed. However, there will be a waiting period from the rally announcement before the guest may sign up, to allow our members first choice to sign up. The length of the waiting period will be determined by the Region, State/Provincial or Chapter Rally Host. The guest registration must note the member who is bringing them in as a guest.

The second part deals with the International Rally. Guests may attend the International Rally at the discretion of the International Directors. The 2013 International Rally is open to guests so if you wish to bring a guest with you to DuQuoin, IL please have them register before the deadline of May 31, 2013. Be sure they note on their reservation form the name and Klub number of the member bringing them in as a guest. We would love to show our guests what NKK is all about, how much fun we have and expose them to our wonderful product. We are going to have fourteen 2014 units on display.

UPCOMING SPECIAL EVENTS FOR 2013

All our events are set up for 2013 and we feel we have something for everyone to enjoy.

The International Rally will be held in DuQuoin, Illinois from June 10-15. Early Parking will be available Saturday and Sunday, June 8-9.  See the April/May issue for complete details and registration form or click on banner on the top of the Welcome page. Reservation deadline is May 31, 2013.

From The Country to The Castle Caravan. This is an all new event. Leaving from the International Rally in DuQuoin, IL on June 15 we will caravan through the Kentucky and Tennessee countryside and end in North Carolina with a visit to the Biltmore Estate and final goodbyes on July 1st. Some highlights of this event will include the Grand Old Opry, Louisville Slugger Museum, the National Corvette Museum, Churchill Downs, Kentucky Derby Museum, plus more! This event is now closed

The Western Caravan will be held from August 17 - September 6. Due to not achieving our minimum reservations required this event has been cancelled

A new Special Event for the Kountry Klub - a Washington, DC Rally. This is scheduled from September 15-21.  We will be staying at Cherry Hill RV Park in College Park, Maryland. We will enjoy performances at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and Ford's Theatre, plus a special dinner at an Embassy. The new memorials for the Korean War, World War II Veterans and Martin Luther King Junior will be visited, as well as an evening illumination tour, the Crime Museum, the National Cryptologic Museum and the International Spy Museum and more. Reservation deadline is July 1, 2013.

You asked so we are bringing back the Branson Christmas Show Rally. Mark the dates of November 4-9 for this event. We will have reserved seating for nine great shows, enjoy six dinners (including a dinner cruise show on the Branson Bell), a day at Silver Dollar City and time to explore the area on your own.

Also coming back will be the ever popular Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta Rally. Dates are October 4-9 and reservations begin April 4th! We be staying immediately adjacent to the balloon launch field and have unlimited access to launch field for all day and evening events. This will be dry camping with one pumpout provided. We will enjoy2 dinners and lunches.

The above events are open for reservations. Simply go to "Special Events". Any event except International can also be registered for by calling the Klub office and charging to your credit card.

Be sure to view the Konnection Magazine, the Regional News as well as the Calendar of Events section of this site as several of the Regions are gearing up for their rally season. Get your calendar's out and plan your fall and winter travels today. 

THE 2013 INTERNATIONAL RALLY IS UPON US!

The April/May issue of the Konnection contains lots of information pertaining to the June 10-15 International Rally. Location this year will be the State Fairgrounds in DuQuoin, Illinois. We will have 30 amp W&E with one pump out included. As far as our rally agenda goes we will have 3 breakfasts and 2 dinners. Monday we have penciled in Trivia Night. Tuesday we have penciled in the Live Auction. Wednesday evening will be left open for State/Provincial and Regional get-togethers. Professional entertainment will be on Thursday night. Friday night we plan to have Game Night. Add to this all the seminars, vendor and supplier booths and craft classes and you can see this will jam-packed with things to do.

We are looking for individuals to lead seminars on general interest to our members. Also lots of volunteers are needed, and we encourage you to check the list of "Volunteers Needed" in the Konnection or contact your region director as they are also looking for help.

Don't miss out on the chance to win back your rally fee with our "Early Bird" Drawing. To be included in this drawing your registration must be received by of April 12th.

We have some great tours arranged for those of you coming in to the International early. There is a deadline of May 8th to sign up for tours and we need to cancel any tour not meeting their requirements of a minimum of 35.

A few new things this year! First is "Decorate the Hall". Since this is an International Rally, we hope to have someone from every State/Province represented to bring a centerpiece depicting their State/Province. Contact your State/Provincial Director if you have an idea. We also plan on having Game Night; if you would like to organize a game, again, please contact your directors A Pet contest is on the schedule again this year.

2013 KONNECTION PUBLICATION SCHEDULE
For 2013 the published issues will be February, April, June, August, October and December. The Konnection will be on line between the 5-8th of the month and received by mail by the 10 - 20th of the month in most cases.

Region Directors Needed for Region 1 & 7

Due to health issues Gary & Tammy Beeler of Region 1 are stepping down immediately. As of today Marty & Marion Marcum will be acting Directors thru the end of this year. We are also seeking Directors for the Region 7 area.

We are seeking a couple or individual to take on these challenging positions. The new Director(s) will be appointed for a term of 3 years with a possible 1 year extension.

If you are interested in either of these positions you must be a resident of any of the States in Region 1 or 7 and own a Newmar unit. You must be able to lead, possess good communications skills, be self-motivated, be a flexible team player, and like to meet a lot of wonderful people from all walks of life.
This position offers many challenges. You will be responsible for organizing and hosting the annual Regional Rally and for interacting with Newmar Dealers in your region. You will work directly with the State Directors, Chapters, and all members in the region. You will also work with the International Directors and the Klub office staff.

Benefits: You will be reimbursed for your International Rally Fee and expenses incurred within the region including travel expenses. Free Klub membership while in office. Rebate on your choice of Newmar RV. New name badge with title and display sign for your RV. Special recognition at all Newmar Kountry Klub functions you attend.

We are saddened to report that Shirley Kuntz (2595-L) passed away on April 29, 2013. She and Don have been members since 1991 and have been active with both Pennsylvania chapters. We will keep Don and their family in our prayers. Don’s address is  4160 Cedar Drive, Walnutport, PA 18088-9417.
