Time to “Saddle up” for Sedalia
2017 International Rally
This is the first in a series of “news flashes” that will occur on the website, in the Konnection, and in the “Happenings” as we develop the programs, entertainment, and seminars and other events for the Sedalia International Rally.
Sedalia is a small town of about 21,000 people located about 2.5 hours North of Branson and about 1.5 hours southeast of Kansas City. It is the site of the Missouri State Fair and the hometown of Ragtime piano player Scott Joplin.
We will have a total of about 1,200 sites; 246 each are 50 amp full hookup and the rest 30 amp full hookup. Temperatures the first week in October should be moderate so 30 amp should be fine for most cases. We are parking all of the volunteers and regional directors in 30 amp full hookup so that the 246 each 50 amp full hookups will be available to our other members.
Our dealer for this rally will once again be Transwest from Kansas City, Missouri. This year, we will for the first time have representation from Ford chassis who will be giving seminars and offering service on the Ford Chassis. Freightliner and Spartan will also once again offer training.
We will have a weigh team available to weigh your units for a small fee. We will once again use golf cart shuttles and carts will be available for rent privately directly from M&M golf carts. We will allow boondocking on Thursday night for those who wish to arrive on Friday.
We will once again use “Grupio” as our conferencing app to support both Android and Apple.
We are in negotiation with the band “Link Union” for our opening Saturday night concert and our resident storyteller from West Virginia, Mr. Bil Lepp, will be returning. Catering contracts are about to be signed.
We are visiting Sedalia with Larry & Katie Harrington next week to review the parking plans.
Reservations will begin on line on April 10th at 8:00 am.
Hope to see you in Sedalia, if not sooner! Safe travels…
