International Rally Update
Have you registered yet for the 32nd International Rally in Sedalia, Missouri? The Early Bird Deadline to register is July 14th. What does that mean you ask?? Well if you register by that date you will be entered in a drawing to win your basic rally fee back. Pretty good odds to be a winner!
Since we still have plenty of both 30 and 50 amp full-hookup sites available, we are allowing "our friends in another brand" to go ahead and register starting on Friday, June 16th. Sorry - your friend will not qualify for the early bird or cash drawings unless they purchase a Newmar before those events take place - Sign 'Em Up!
Rally dates will be October 2-7 with parking on Friday and Saturday, September 29 & 30. We have several pre-rally tours offered on Saturday and Sunday (see descriptions below) as well as entertainment Saturday evening to start things off. Sunday will have a non-denominational worship service, golf meeting and first timers meeting. Monday all the busy and fun "stuff" kicks in gear! The Golf Tournament will be Monday morning. The seminar schedule will begin, vendors, suppliers and the Klub store will open up. Service write ups and Newmar's own service techs will begin working on our units and Monday evening will be the Opening Ceremonies. Throughout the week we will have two catered dinners, three breakfasts, entertainment, game night, pet contest, Regional/State get-togethers, craft classes and much more!
We currently have approximately 325 reservations. Good news is, as stated above, we do still have both 50 amp FHU (getting limited) and 30 amp FHU sites available. As reported last month there are plenty of 30 amp FHU so, in most cases, we will only use every other site which means that you will have plenty of room - each site will probably be almost 30 feet from their neighbor. The 50 amp FHU sites will be closer because the sewer hook-ups are, in some cases, on the other side of your unit - bring extra sewer hose (about 25 ft.) to be sure you can reach your sewer hook-up. Most sites are level but a few leveling blocks will be useful in some sites.
Temperatures the first week in October are usually moderate so 30 amp should be fine for most cases.
Boondocking (dry camping no hookups) will be available on Thursday night for those who have registered for Friday arrival. You do not need to pre-register for boondocking just follow the basic directions in your confirmation packet and follow the signs. The cost will be $10 cash paid upon arrival.
Our dealer for this rally will once again be Transwest; this year from Kansas City, Missouri. They will have a wide range of 2018 units on display...be sure to bring your checkbook!
We will, for the first time, have representation from Ford Chassis who will be giving seminars and offering service on the chassis. Freightliner (see information below to register) and Spartan will also offer training. Watch future Happenings emails for details on the Spartan classes.
Vendor applications are starting to come in. RVSEF will be in attendance and offering weighing of your units. And back this year we will have Driving School - see below for more info on the driving classes.
For your convenience we will use golf cart shuttles as we have the last two years.
Since we had such an overwhelmingly positive response we will again use "Grupio" as our conferencing app to support both Android and Apple. In September we will have the information for you to download the app.
Pre-RallyTours. Tours 1-3 are still available but 4 is sold out. Below is a listing of the tours we have to offer. Tours will be on Saturday, September 30th, and Sunday, October 1st. Complete descriptions of the tours can be found in the current issue of the Konnection Magazine and on online within the registration forms.
Don't miss some of these world class museums, especially on tour 1 - here's a link to the "World War 1 Museum" - http://tiny.cc/61uily. The Arabia Steamboat Museum is also fascinating - a historic treasure trove that sank in 1856 on the Mississippi River and was not "re-discovered" until 1987 half a mile from the present river buried 45 feet below ground! Here is a link - http://1856.com/. And for tour #4
Here's a link to the Clydesdales - http://tiny.cc/f1vily

Tour 2 - The 1836 Missouri State Penitentiary, Missouri's State Capital and More
Tour 3 - The Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and the National Frontier Trails Museum
Tour 4 - Warm Springs Ranch (Budweiser Clydesdales) and the Antebellum Dixie Region
Last issue we announced "Link Union" for our opening Saturday night concert as well as Bil Lepp, hilarious storyteller returning. Since then we have also contracted Wylie and the Wild West to perform for us.
Wylie Gustafson is the real deal - he is a piece of Americana - a working rancher and western style entertainer that has appeared on the Garrison Keeler show, Conan O'Brian, and the Grand Olde Opry numerous times. He has been sponsored by the US State Department for tours in Russia and China to represent the heritage of Western culture and music. Here's a link to a video with his riding skills - http://tiny.cc/evwily and he also sings! - http://tiny.cc/rexily.
