A Message From Jim & Wilma

The “Kountry Klub” as it is known, is one of the leading RV social clubs in the recreational vehicle industry. Our members are from all over the United States and Canada. This is an exclusive club for owners of Newmar recreational vehicles and offers many advantages and benefits for our members.

Our members travel all over North America and meet up in various areas for rallies, special events and caravans. Through the Kountry Klub we have an open line of communication between Newmar Corporation and other owners of Newmar RV’s. We have created an opportunity for travel experiences, fellowship, adventure, friendship and recreational fun.

We are very proud and honored to serve as International Directors for the Newmar Kountry Klub. We will strive to
uphold Newmar’s Mission Statement and Guiding Principles, which include honoring God and applying Christian principles of honesty, courtesy, morality, fairness, reasonableness, reliability and integrity in all business activities.

Article from April/May 2013 Konnection Issue

The DuQuoin, Illinois Fairgrounds is a great place for a large rally and we will be heading that way soon for the International Rally June 10-15, with early parking June 8 and 9. The Fairground staff and DuQuoin Tourism have been very helpful in our planning of this rally. You still have time to be included in the Early Bird Drawing if you register before April 15th.

Four optional tours are lined up for you on Sunday and Monday, June 9 and 10. We encourage you to check them out and sign up before the May 5th deadline if you are interested. We will need to release the buses if we have less than 35 on a tour.

Another very important deadline for you to be aware of has to do with signing up for crafts. Eight of the twelve crafts this year will be taught by local instructors, and the majority of them have requested a week’s notice if their class will be held in order for them to purchase supplies. We have a nice variety of crafts lined up for you so remember to preregister for the ones that interest you. Craft classes will be scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and will not be held during the Pet Contest from 11 – 12 Noon on Tuesday.

For those of you who have attended past International Rallies you know how many volunteers are needed to help out. Volunteering is fun, you get to meet a lot of new people and make new friends. Fun, friendship and fellowship; that’s what the Klub is all about. If you haven’t signed up to help with your Region’s duties, please contact your director, as we need you. Or visit the “Volunteers Needed” table at registration upon arrival.

Thanks to the DuQuoin Tourism for arranging for us to have 1 hour tours of the Mayor’s home and the Governor’s house on Monday and Friday morning. You need to sign up for your preference of time during registration at the rally.

Also during registration be sure and sign up for “Game Night” on Friday evening. Look for the “Game Sign up Table” and if there isn’t a game that interests you, we encourage you to organize one. When you sign up, take note of what you need to bring along, such as “cash”.

Wally Sisk will be handling our Caring and Sharing Program, with donations for the DuQuoin Food Pantry, so please be generous. We refer you to read the article on page 37 on all they do for those in need. Also, starting after breakfast on Tuesday a “Book Swap Table” will be set up for you to leave and take books.

As of Tuesday morning look for the signup sheet located near the Information booth for Executive appointments which will be held on Thursday. This is your chance to meet with Newmar Executives for a 10 minute visit regarding Newmar Corporation. As you can see, the Registration area is a busy place during registration hours.

Remember “Jammers” to bring along your instruments; and, those of you who have been blessed with good voices, plan on singing along with the other choir members during the Worship Service and Opening Ceremony.

If you want to meet with a Newmar Kountry Klub staff member we will be roaming around, or in the Klub’s temporary office. Our doors are always open and we welcome you to stop in.

The Newmar Kountry Klub Annual Board Meeting is scheduled for May 17th. If you have anything for us to consider taking to the Board, please contact us in the Klub Office in writing by either mail or email (kountryklub@newmarcorp.com), or Jim & Sue Hagedon, your Members-at-Large, their contact information is located with their article.

Just a reminder --- check the “Calendar of Events” for a wide variety of Special Events and Rallies planned for your enjoyment.

God Bless and safe travels. Looking forward to seeing you in DuQuoin.

2013 INTERNATIONAL RALLY INFORMATION

On May 17, 2013 the Newmar Kountry Klub Board of Directors held their annual meeting at the Newmar Corporate Headquarters in Nappanee, IN. There was one major change to the Directives section of our By-Laws which affects all our membership. The NKK Board of Directors unanimously approved a change in our policy about invited guests at rallies. The one per calendar year requirement was removed. However, there will be a waiting period from the rally announcement before the guest may sign up, to allow our members first choice to sign up. The length of the waiting period will be determined by the Region, State/Provincial or Chapter Rally Host. The guest registration must note the member who is bringing them in as a guest. The second part deals with the International Rally. Guests may attend the International Rally at the discretion of the International Directors. The 2013 International Rally is open to guests so if you wish to bring a guest with you to DuQuoin, IL please have them register before the deadline of May 31, 2013. We would love to show our guests what NKK is all about, how much fun we have and expose them to our wonderful product. We are going to have fourteen 2014 units on display.

EMERGENCY NUMBER AT RALLY
The emergency contact number at the rally will be 618-542-1585. Please make note of this number and pass it on to your family. This is for emergencies only, and will be answered during the office business hours. After hours there will be an answering machine. All messages will be delivered to your unit.

PARKING/REGISTRATION
This year we will have 30 amp electric and water with one pump out provided on your area’s designated day. In order to have your reservation processed, all your paperwork must be in order and all fees paid in full. You can mail, fax your reservation to the office (574-773-5130), or register on line www.newmarkountryklub.com. Sorry but we cannot take phone reservations for the International Rally.

PLEASE CHECK YOUR RESERVATION FORM BEFORE SENDING
Each year we receive several forms that are not filled out completely, or with incorrect credit card information or check amounts. Unfortunately if we have to try to reach you to clear up a problem it will delay your reservation being processed. Please be sure to provide your email and cell number on your form.

CARAVANS
All caravan reservations must be sent in together either by mail, fax or online. If doing online the caravan leader must contact Linda in the Klub office to supply her with a list of who is in the caravan and when they are all being sent (must be on same day). The Caravan will be processed after all reservations have been received. Once the caravan is processed we cannot add units to the group. Any questions give Linda a call at 877-639-5582 or email to kountryklub@newmarcorp.com.
EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION
This year’s early bird deadline is Friday, April 12. If your reservation is received by that day you will be included in the drawing during Opening Ceremonies to win back your basic rally fee. So get those forms in!

UNDERGROUND WATER AND POWER LINES
If you are going to put ANYTHING in the ground, i.e. awning stakes, signs or anything that goes below the surface please ask a member of the Fairgrounds staff BEFORE you do so. THERE ARE MANY WATER AND ELECTRICAL LINES RUNNING JUST BELOW THE SURFACE and you do not want to hit one.
WHITE PVC CAPS ON THE FAIRGROUNDS In several locations around the fairgrounds you will find WHITE PVC CAPS that look like caps commonly used on sewer hook-ups in campgrounds, DO NOT USE THEM! THEY ARE GREASE TRAPS USED DURING THE FAIR!!! Your cooperation is a must. If you foul it up, YOU have to pay to clean it up!! We will be using pump-out services ONLY!

SERVICE AT INTERNATIONAL RALLY
Within your reservation packet you will receive a Service Request form in a yellow envelope. Be sure to fill out the form and return to the service department by deadline date. If you do not have time to mail by that date, bring paperwork to the rally and you will be processed as non-registered.
New this year the service department has changed the time for checking in for service work on Monday. Pre-registered ONLY will begin at 8:00 AM then non-registered will begin at 9:00 AM.
In order to service as many customers as possible during the rally, the Service Department will prioritize their service in the following sequence:
Emergency customers will be serviced first. Emergency items are ONLY items that would prevent a coach from leaving the rally, or render a coach uninhabitable.
Warranty customers will be serviced in order of date of purchase, beginning with the most recent.
Out-of-warranty customers will also be serviced in order of date of purchase, beginning with the most recent.  Newmar will offer this service at a reduced service rate plus reduced cost of parts.
TRAMS AT THIS YEAR’S RALLY
Once again this year we will have tram service running daily. We are currently looking for volunteers to run the trams. If interested please call the Klub office. This year you will also be able to rent golf carts if desired. You will need to contact the golf cart company direct to reserve a cart. See the ad on page 52 for information and contact number.

PARTS DEPARTMENT
The Parts Department will bring an inventory of the more popular parts for you to purchase during the rally. Remember, if they do not have the part at the rally you can order it for later delivery. Start working on your list of parts needed.

HANDICAP AND DIABETIC MEMBERS
Please make sure we are aware of your needs by indicating on your reservation form. For Handicap parking we will need a copy of your mirror hang tag or a letter from your doctor sent with your reservation.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THE RALLY
Within this issue you will see an editorial listing areas we need help with. Not only will you be helping your fellow Klub members but it’s a great way to meet new friends. Call Linda in the Klub office, she will be glad to sign you up. Your Region Directors and the Fulltimers’ Chapter are also looking for volunteers; please contact them direct for information on duties involved.

RECEIVING MAIL AT THE RALLY
You can have mail sent to you during the rally. Please use this address for any mail or packages: Newmar Kountry Klub, your name and Klub number, c/o DuQuoin State Fairgrounds, 655 Executive Dr, DuQuoin, IL 62832. Also have it marked “Hold for Pickup”. Please do not have anything delivered before June 5th. Any items received after the rally will be returned to sender

DISPLAY YOUR KLUB NUMBERS
Please be sure your Klub number is displayed as you come in to the rally so our parking crews can keep track of all our arrivals. If we need to locate your unit in the event of an emergency the visible numbers are the fastest way to find you. They are also necessary for the service department or any vendors who are working on your unit to locate you. Thanks for your cooperation.
