Fall is upon us and what a beautiful time of year. From the RV windshield you can’t beat checking out the golden aspens in Colorado to the fall colors in the Ozarks, Smokies and New England states. Fall festivals are also in abundance, including Blueberry Festivals, Apple Festivals, October Fests, etc. So much to do, so little time, but don’t put it off, life is short, keep those wheels rolling.
We have been working with our IT Department and have made several changes to our Klub data base. We can now hold two addresses so if you have a dual summer/winter address please email us the information with the dates each is valid and we will automatically make the change.
Another change that many of you have been asking for! We are in the process of bringing back a Membership Directory sometime in 2014! This will be available online only and this section of the website will be password protected. On page XX of this issue you will find a form to be filled out indicating whether you do or do not want to be included in the directory. Please either email the information or mail in the form so we can register your requests.
NKK is pleased with the continued growth of new members which has averaged 32 per month for the last 5 months. This is partially due, of course, to the increased number of units being made. They are now at 30 per week, by late October will be at 35 per week and have orders into 2014.
Speaking of new members… we want to welcome our newest Dealer member! National Indoor RV Centers (20152) is located at 4405 Paxtyon Lane SW, Lilburn, GA 30047. They also have a location in Texas at 498 E State Hwy 121, Lewisville, TX 75057. If you’re in the area of either of these locations please stop in, view the Newmar’s on site and welcome them to the Klub.
If you missed out on one of our 2013 Special Events, perhaps you can join one in 2014. January starts out with the Florida Tampa Supershow Rally from the 14-19. Also in January is the Arizona Quartzsite Gathering in the Desert from January 15-22; and, as you know you just show up at the designated location. The Alaska Caravan, June 11-July 24, is now ready for you to sign up for (see ad in this issue on page 3) and don’t hesitate as this probably won’t be repeated in 2015. A post-International Caravan in Michigan is in the making which will soon be finalized and ready for publication and registration with the December/January Konnection. Check out the Rhine River Cruise scheduled for September 12-21, 2014. With a maximum of 62 rooms this will book quickly; if you are interested please call Edgerton Travel 574-256-2929 for availability. At this time we are still in the beginning stages of a Cajun Caravan for the fall of 2014 or 2015.
In the “Calendar of Events” section please take note of the monthly breakfasts and luncheons planned in Arizona, Texas and Florida with some beginning in November. We certainly enjoy these events and want to thank those of you who organize them, as well as those of you who attend.
Thanks to Jim & Sue Hagedon, we now have a photo album of our 2013 International Rally. One copy stays in the NKK office so take a look at it when you are in Nappanee. The second copy travels with Jim & Wilma Weeks and will be at the rallies they attend.
We can hardly wait for July, 2014 when we will again be with our NKK Family in Escanaba from July 14-19 for the 29th International Rally. We spent a few days in Escanaba with Ron & Wanda Llewellyn to go over parking. We will be limited to approx. 330 sites for our members. There’s a lot of buzz out there with this being a new location many are planning on attending. So don’t hesitate when the reservations come out in February – get registered early! Plans are well under way and details will be finalized once we are settled down in south Texas. There is an antique village on the fairgrounds which will be open a couple days during our Rally. Please check the article titled “Antique Gas and Steam Village” in this issue on page 10.
New for 2014 we plan on having a “sing along” of favorite hymns before the Sunday Worship Service. Elsewhere in this issue we are asking for craft instructors to contact us by November 1 if you are willing to teach a class allowing us time to get local instructors if necessary. Also, we refer you to a separate article on “Deck the Halls”. You will have all winter to come up with a unique lighthouse.
We ask God’s Blessing upon each and every one of you during this Thanksgiving Season. God has blessed the NKK staff with so much, including all of you, our friends.
